CHERRY BLOSSOMS BLOOM IN SHILLONG

It was November 28,2020,that afternoon I took this photo with my sister of this beautiful cherry blossom.

Also known as Prunus Cerasoides, the cherry blossoms are considered a gift from the Himalayas. They usually grow across the east and west Khasi hills. Annually, the International Cherry Blossom Festival is hosted in Shillong, Meghalaya, usually in mid-November.

 

The tree, which is endemic to the region and typically grows wild, makes the Khasi Hills come alive every November with its delicate reds and pinks.
